Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, Ltd. (PMSL), the world leader in process mixing and innovation, recently hosted the Industrial Tomography Systems Workshop of North America at their global Engineering and Technology headquarters and Research and Development facility in Palmyra, PA.

The selection of the Palmyra facility for this event was based on the company’s advanced engineering and research capabilities. PMSL is the only company in North America that owns and operates equipment capable of showing the latest developments in electrical tomography applications of ultrasound spectroscopy as it relates to fluid mixing and measuring flow patterns of opaque fluids inside a specific tank.

In conjunction with Industrial Tomography Systems plc, the workshop at PMSL covered software interface detection and probe design, ultrasound spectroscopy/rheology and a tour of the onsite lab to demonstrate the use of ERT to improve processes using the latest developments in software, instruments and sensors.

With over 100 years of expertise and state-of-the-art lab facilities, tomography is just one more facet to R&D capabilities of PMSL. “We are pleased to offer this additional service so potential clients can design a solution prior to their purchase of equipment without having to hire a consulting engineer,” states Lawrence K. Notable presenters at the workshop include David Scott, PhD from DuPont. Dr Scott has worked extensively in areas of particle characterization, tomography, process imaging and non-destructive evaluation. He has published books, received patents and has written several dozen technical papers in the field. PMSL technical advisors Todd Hutchinson, Director Research and Development, and Wojciech Wyczalkowski, Technology Fellow, also were on-hand at the workshop.
