Getting Long Term Results from Repair Work

The local repair shop may seem like a good deal.  They’re convenient; they’re inexpensive.  But do they truly know how to repair a mixer drive – which is different than a regular gearbox by virtue of the types of loads and stresses it works with?

Here’s the thing with repair shops.  They might be good at identifying the symptoms of mixer drive malfunction.  They might even be good at fixing them.  What they can’t do, though, is find out why the mixer drive malfunctioned to begin with.  And so you take your repaired mixer drive and put it back into the very same conditions it came from.  And the problems keep popping up.  And you keep taking it back to the repair shop.  And suddenly, it’s not convenient, and it certainly isn’t inexpensive.

Repair services should be part of your mixer manufacturer’s overall offering.  Who better to diagnose and fix the true root cause of the problem than the people who designed your drive?  They have intimate knowledge of both your specific drive and your specific system; typical repair shops don’t.  At a repair shop, a mixer is just a mixer, and you’re the customer like everyone else…and we all know that’s not the case.

Whoever reapirs your system should provide you with a comprehensive report on the inspection and evaluation of your mixer drive.  They should also offer repair options to fit your budget.  And, most importantly, they should repair your mixer drive to like-new condition for many years of service – with a warranty of their work.
